The Daily Scroll: A Mentorship Recap – March 18th, 2021 Show Notes

Kay:

Hey, Hey Questers, welcome back. This is Throat and Third Eye Thursday.

Shi:

That’s a thing.

Kay:

Here for episode 314. This is March 18th, and we are in chakra week, brought to you by babaelegba.com.

Shi:

Who better to talk about the chakras than Eckhart Tolle who brings us our quote for Throat and Third Eye Thursday and that quote is, “True freedom is living as if you had completely chosen whatever you feel or experience in this moment. This inner alignment with the now is the end of suffering.”

Kay:

Now, we love Eckhart Tolle. He’s got some of the best books out there, The Power of Now, A New Earth. The New York Times called him the most popular spiritual author in the United States. He truly is wonderful, and I understand this quote so cognitively, but I’m just going to really talk with you guys. When you’re in the middle of suffering, that can be a little tough.

Shi:

This is just so classically esoteric…

Kay:

Eckhart Tolle!

Shi:

…and I agree with you Kay. In the heat of emotion, it can be really hard even when your logical brain screams at you. Your emotional brain, your gut-brain, your heart-brain are both wildly out of control and it can be difficult to keep this perspective. But really when we talk about these two centers, these are about our voice and our vision, right. Our throat chakra is how we’re going to articulate all of the energy and the experience and what we want to leave on this world. It’s going to come from that center and then the third eye, I mean, that’s pretty powerful.

Kay:

The third eye is that space where you’re really connecting from your intellect into what might be some more of those energetic realms. You might get some insights into things, maybe you’ve got some new ideas coming in, but it’s not necessarily creative so much as it is a processing center. So, looking into that throat, Shi, I am so glad that you said that this is the articulation center because this is going to be a bright blue, almost a turquoise color that you get out of that beautiful center right there at the very base of your throat. Act like an offended woman from the 1930s.

Kay & Shi:

(*Ducks chin into throat*) Huh?

Kay:

That’s where your throat chakra is. So, if you can feel that center right there, if you have trouble articulating what it is that you’re thinking, or maybe you have trouble turning off your own internal articulation then your throat chakra might be out of whack.

Shi:

You might have a little bit of an energetic bump there that if you just bring some intentionality, some awareness, and some mindfulness to it, it could really help in this center a lot and that third eye’s place, you know, that purple in between your eyes and just up a little bit on your forehead. I know for me if I touch that place on my forehead or put something on it, I can literally feel it. It feels different than any other spot. I’ve always wondered if that’s why, in the Indian culture, there is a jewel there. I’m not sure why there is, but I wondered if that is it.

Kay:

You’re right.

Shi:

Boom!

Kay:

That is why. It is a third eye-opener. It is a part of their culture and a religious…

Shi:

Beautiful.

Kay:

…symbol that you are a spiritual person. So yes, the third eye is most often associated with spirituality. You see, you know, the seers in movies and things having the eye on their forehead. So, you might think of this as like that future casting or that idea. This is where you’re strategizing from. This is where you’re using all the power of your human intellect to look into the future and make better decisions based on your past decisions.

Shi:

I mean, just to get like, kind of physical on you for a minute, that’s your frontal lobe, right. That’s where the neocortex came in.

Kay:

That’s your executive decision-maker.

Shi:

Yes, exactly. That is the last part that came in and what gives us so much cognitive function and ability that is like the latest evolution. So, it’s neat to see how the energetic center would align with that as well. I kind of like to think about it too, as like your spotlight of the metaphorical spotlight of your mind. What are you focusing on? Because that’s what you’re headed towards. And what are you looking for? Because that’s what you’ll find. It’s kind of that ninja tuner if you will. But often we let our thoughts, (the internal part of that third eye), look at things we don’t like or remember things that make us cringe or listen to thoughts that bring us down or don’t help us get to our highest good. That’s when we can be in trouble and maybe want to do some work there.

Kay:

Right. So, if you have an internal voice that’s just going and going and going and you can’t shut it up, or maybe you have an external voice and it’s going and going, and you can’t shut up. (That’s me sometimes)! Then you may want to look into that throat chakra and, if that third eye, (that focus center), has difficulty maybe turning that spotlight away from that voice that never ends, then that’s somewhere to also look as well. Maybe if you’re just looking to be a little bit more connected to your future, to the strategy, to the vision of your life, to the things that you want. Because just like Eckhart tells us, “True freedom is living as though you’ve completely chosen.” And when you completely choose everything in your life, your articulation, your thinking, and your focus are all your choice, then you’re free to feel or experience whatever is happening at the moment and allow that alignment with the now to be the end of suffering.

Shi:

Alright, it’s time for your Throat and Third Eye Thursday Quest. Alright, today, we want you to allow yourself to tap into your own internal insight by fully accepting and embracing every aspect of every moment, as much as you can, here in the now. Wear your God goggles, if you will. What would it feel like to live with the wisdom of knowing that everything you are experiencing today was happening for you in accordance to the highest and best use of your life, expression, and humanity as a whole, aka for a reason and for you? Work on recalling this wisdom today as much as you can. Are you ready?

Kay & Shi:

Let’s quest!
